- Outer frame, a completed oil painting including an outer frame, especially strong practical oil paintings, the outer frame forms a sight boundary for viewer towards the work, which can make picture looks complete, centralized, the physical image in the picture give viewer a feel of deep. The thickness and size should choose according to the work content. Most of the classical oil painting’s outer frames are made of wood and plaster, while modern oil paintings’ are mostly choose aluminum alloy and other metallic material.
